About ABCS

The Association of Bulgarian Chevening Alumni (ABCS) is an organization of Bulgarians who have studied in Great Britain with the help of the Chevening Scholarship of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of Great Britain.

The aim of the Association is to create a community and to provide opportunities for networking and cooperation between people of different professional backgrounds, united by common ideas and a desire to contribute to the development of their country, as well as the development of contacts between Great Britain and Bulgaria.

The activities envisaged by the Association are holding debates, discussions, analyses of current issues, promoting good working practices, seeking and offering solutions to problems and developing projects of social significance.

The areas in which the Association focuses is efforts are: economics, education, culture, law, European integration, the development of civil society, and intercultural communication.

History
The Association of Bulgarian Chevening Scholars (ABCS) is an association of young Bulgarians who have been granted a Chevening scholarship for study in the United Kingdom. It was created in 2005 with the kind support of the British Council. The Association meets regularly (about once a month) to discuss current and future projects in the areas of civil society, culture, education, European integration.

Becoming a Member

If you are a Bulgarian citizen who has been granted a Chevening Scholarship for study in the United Kingdom, and if you have already started or completed your course of study in the UK, you can become a member of ABCS.Please write to Ms Anna Yonkova at <anna_yonkova.at.abv.bg>.
